Who we are
Dutje is operated by Dutje B.V., based in the Netherlands. We act as a data processor on behalf of sleep coaches (our customers) who use our platform to serve parents (end users).
Data we collect
Account information
When you create an account, we collect your name, email address, and password. For coaches, we also collect business information and branding preferences.
Child
Parents provide information about their children, including name, date of birth, and sleep-related details. This data is shared with your sleep coach to provide personalized guidance.
Sleep logs
We collect sleep logs that parents enter, including sleep times, wake times, nap durations, and notes. This data helps your coach track progress and adjust recommendations.
Questions and conversations
When you ask questions through the app, we store these conversations to provide context-aware responses and to help your coach understand your needs.
Coach content
Coaches upload schedules, guides, videos, and other educational materials. This content is stored securely and shared only with their clients.

The assistant
Dutje includes an intelligent assistant that can answer your questions. This assistant is trained on your coach's materials, schedules, and communication style. It uses your child's information and sleep history to provide relevant, personalized responses.
The assistant is designed to help you in moments of uncertainty, especially outside your coach's working hours. It is not a replacement for your coach — your coach remains the expert guiding your journey.
Data sharing
With your sleep coach
Your coach can see your account information, your child's details, sleep logs, and questions you ask. This is essential for providing coaching services.
Service providers
We use trusted third-party services to operate Dutje, including Supabase for secure data storage and authentication, and language model providers for the assistant functionality. These providers process data according to strict data protection agreements.
We never sell your data
We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information to third parties for marketing purposes.
Data security
We implement industry-standard security measures to protect your data, including encryption in transit and at rest, secure authentication, and regular security audits. Our infrastructure is hosted in the European Union.
Data retention
We retain your data for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide services. When you or your coach ends the coaching relationship, your data is retained for a reasonable period to allow for reactivation, after which it is deleted. You can request deletion of your data at any time.
Your rights
Under GDPR and Dutch privacy law, you have the right to:
- Access the personal data we hold about you
- Correct inaccurate or incomplete data
- Delete your data (right to be forgotten)
- Export your data in a portable format
- Object to or restrict certain processing
- Withdraw consent at any time

Children's privacy
